Origami Night April 18

Learn the fun art of Origami by making a Lotus Flower at the Malden Public Library on Tuesday, April 18th from 6:30-8:30 pm. All supplies will be provided, although we ask that you bring along your own ruler.

This program is limited to 15; call the library at 781.324.0218 to sign-up.

This program will be for older teens and adults and is sponsored by Malden Reads.

50+ Job Seekers Networking Group

The Malden Public Library has just joined the Massachusetts Library Collaborative 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group.    The Job Seekers Networking Group supports people fifty years and older looking for a new job, a new career direction, re-entering the workforce after an employment gap, or looking for a “Second Act” career.  There will be biweekly skill-building and networking group meetings with a new topic at each meeting.  Attendance at each session is not necessary – but highly recommended.

WHERE:  All meetings will be via Zoom Video Conferencing.

WHEN : We offer a morning or an evening class please choose the time that works best for you:

1st and 3rd Wed, Jan – June 2023 9:30-11:30 am

2nd and 4th Wed. Jan – June afternoon 6:00-8:00

(Zoom room opens 30 minutes ahead of the start of the program for informal networking/sharing resources).

Introduction to Genealogy

Interested in getting into genealogy but don’t know where to start? The Malden Public Library will be hosting Seema Kenney from the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, she will present a 90-minute workshop geared toward beginners. About our presenter: Seema Kenney. A wife, mother of 3, and entrepreneur, Seema is an experienced software instructor and a professional genealogist. Based on over 20 years of research, her known roots are deep in New England as well as England, Germany, & Sweden with DNA adding a line in The Netherlands. She has a certificate in Genealogical Research from BU, completed ProGen and is an active member of several societies and part of the NERGC planning committee. Seema is also certified as a Guided Autobiography Consultant and a Legacy Planner.

English Conversation Class: Wednesdays 1-2 pm
