YA Book Discussion

Young Adult Coloring Craft

This week we invite you to Take & Make your own small anime & kawaii coloring bag. Young Adults in the 6th-12th grade are invited to grab a few pages and colored pencils and relax while coloring pages from hit manga “Demon Slayer” also known as ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba’

No sign-up is required but these coloring kits are limited so stop by the library starting Monday, July 25th at the information desk to secure your own.

N@ML “Build A Better Telescope” Wednesday, July 27th @3PM

Youth in the 3rd Grade and up can sign up for our upcoming NASA @ My Library program called “Build A Better Telescope” on Wednesday July 27th from 3:00-4:30 PM.

In this educational craft program we will learn about telescopes from space experts, as well as design, plan and build our own handheld device.

NASA stickers for Summer Reading passports are available for completing this mission. Space is limited so sign-up today at the information desk or call 781-324-0218.

YA Movie Afternoon July 22nd, 3:00-5:00 PM

Young Adults in the 6th through 12th grade are invited to the MPL for a movie afternoon watching the one of the latest animated films from Pixar studios.

Join us this Friday, July 22nd from 3:00 – 5:00 PM in the program room for the movie. No sign-up is necessary but seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Light refreshments will be served.

Camp MPL Merit Badge Challenge

Are you wondering what to do with the Summer Reading Passport that you got at the Ice Cream Social? Well, we have officially launched out Camp MPL Merit Badge Challenge, so wonder no more. Here are the basics…
 
Collect 5 stickers for attending programs, reading books, doing challenges. Once you have 5 stickers you qualify for a merit badge to be handed out at the End of Summer Picnic on August 11th from 2-4pm (sign up required).
 
And for an added incentive for grown up readers, everyone who qualifies for a merit badge will also be entered into a raffle to win a Camp MPL tote bag.

YA Backyard Crafts: Bee Homes! Wednesday July 20th @ 3PM

Young Adults in the 5th grade and up are invited to the library to learn all about our friendly backyard neighbors and potent pollinators the BEES!

Join us this Wednesday July 20th at 3PM on the Front Portico outside of the library to paint bee houses and learn how to attract bees to your backyard. Sign-up is limited so call the library starting tomorrow to reserve your space at 781-321-0218 or stop by the Information Desk.

YA Backyard Arts & Crafts: Soy Candles

Youth in the 6th grade and up are invited to the back patio of the MPL to dive into some new Arts and Crafts programs at the MPL.

First up we flaunt fragrances and dip wicks in creating your own personalized Soy Candle. Join us this Friday, July 15th  from 3:00 – 4:30 through the Old Building on the Outdoor Patio. Sign-Up at the Information Desk or call 781-324-0218 today, and once more this is for grades 6 and up only.

 

(Canceled) N@ML Exploration Club – Thurs. July 14th 3:00-4:30

Youth in the 3rd Grade and Up are invited to join us on Thursday, July 14th from 3:00-4:30 PM in the Program Room of the library.

We will be exploring the ins and out of using telescopes to explore space features like stars and the surface of the moon. We will also be examining the first images send back from the James Webb Space Telescope of the deepest images of the universe ever seen by human eyes!

No Sign-Up is required but space is limited so arrive on time to take part in the latest NASA @ My Library program at the MPL.
