Cancelled: Night of the Living Dead 10.31.22 @6:30 pm

Unfortunately the Halloween showing of Night of the Living Dead has been cancelled. Hopefully it can rise again in another form in the future.

We’re coming to get you…Malden. Join us on the front lawn on Monday 10.31.22 (Halloween) at 6:30 pm to see the restored Zombie classic: “Night of the Living Dead”. We have a blow up screen, a bowl of candy, and prizes for your best costumes. Bring a blanket and a chair and settle in for the unsettling. We’ll start early so you still have time to haunt the downtown in all your ghoulish glory.

Sarah Biglow – Author Talk Malden

Seasons of Magic Series is available at the Malden Public Library

USA Today Best Selling Author Sarah Biglow will be at the Malden Public Library Thursday, October 27th at 7pm for an Author Talk and Q&A.

She is the author of several series in the genres of urban fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction.
Fans of Cozy Mystery might recognize her by her penname S.E. Biglow.
Book two of her Agents of Magic series will be released on October 31st.

Jenna McLaughlin, author – Friday, Oct. 28, 4pm

On Friday, October 28, at 4:00pm, children will have a chance to meet Jenna McLaughlin, Miss Massachusetts Outstanding Teen 2022. She will be reading from her children’s book, Roxanne Takes a Stand, and talking about how to be kind and take a stand to support friends and classmates. Jenna wrote the book after her own experiences of being bullied when she was younger. Recommended for ages 5-7.

YA Fall Party – Thursday, Oct. 27th @ 3PM

Young Adults in the 6th through 12th grade are invited to enjoy an afternoon gathering on Thursday, Oct 27th from 3-4:30. Get into the autumnal spirit with games with friends in the Program Room on the second floor of the library.

Video games, Board Games, Pizza and refreshments will be available first come first served, so make sure to come in early to hang out and relax.

Movie Night: Wed., October 19th: 6-8:15pm

Join us for Movie Night on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 6:00-8:15pm. We will be showing a movie based on the “Cruella” character from 101 Dalmations.

This Disney film “follows the early days of one of cinema’s most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains. During the 1970s London punk rock revolution, a young grifter (Emma Stone), transforms herself into the raucous, revenge-bent Cruella de Vil.” Rated PG-13 (134 min.) (2021)

Puppet Story Time – Saturday, Nov. 5, 3pm

Through Me to You Puppetry is coming to our library on Saturday, November 5, at 3:00pm! Join Newton and his puppet friends as they take turns reading stories and singing songs with the kids. At the end of the 30-minute show, the kids are invited to say “hi” to Newton and give him a high-five. Kids can stay afterwards and play with some of Newton’s puppets during a hands-on Puppet Free-Play session! Recommended for ages 5-7.

Todd Goodwin Storyteller “Growing up Grubby”

Storyteller, Todd Goodwin, will be at the Malden Public Library on Monday, October 17th at 6:30PM to tell entertaining stories about growing up in New England in the 1950s and 60s. For early arrivers (between 6 and 6:15, we will show a 16mm silent film reel through a projector of scenes from around Malden in the late 1970s. Let us know if you recognize someone!
