The Friends of the Malden Public Library, in conjunction with their Membership Month drive, will be holding a Members Only book sale on Friday, January 31st from 6–9 pm.
Members can renew at the door and new members can sign up the night of the sale.
The Malden Public Library will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 9 a.m.

Join Nicola the puppeteer and her puppet pal, the friendly Winter Monster–and a variety of other puppet friends besides–as they present several seasonal stories about wintertime. The fun begins at 3pm on Saturday, January 25. Appropriate for kids ages 4-10! In addition, kids in the audience will get to be part of this show and operate their own puppets! They can even make up a tiny puppet show of their own for the audience. This free program is funded by the Friends of the Malden Public Library.
This early literacy program for young children (6 months to 4+ years) features songs, nursery rhymes, and a short picture book and takes place on Tuesday mornings and alternating Saturdays, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m in the Children’s Room. No registration required. Just come on by!
Young Adults in the 6th through 12th Grade are invited to the Program Room of the MPL for a new craft where you will design and craft your own personalized lip balm.

Young Adults in the 5th through 12th grade are invited to enter worlds of Fantasy and Adventure at the Malden Public Library each Monday. Our Young Adult Roleplaying Group meets weekly in the Program room each Monday from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.
Come and learn about Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) from Pathfinder to Dungeons and Dragons and many more. Play games with your friends and enjoy a light snack and refreshment. Read the library’s collection of game books or bring your own to play with friends.
Young Adults in the 5th through 12th Grade are invited to the MPL to learn about the fun collectible card game called Magic The Gathering. The game’s been around for over 30 years and has seen many iterations. Come play with beginner decks and learn from peers on how to play the game. Join us on Thursday, January 23rd from 3:00-4:30 PM. Join Local History Library and quizmaster, Phillip Wright, when he tests your Malden knowledge at this fun and illuminating trivia night. Prizes will be awarded as will local bragging rights to all those who can answer the most who, what, when, and wheres of Malden history.
