Summer Movie Night: Wed., August 16th: 6:00-8:30pm

Join us for Summer Movie Night on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Malden Public Library. We will be showing the newest movie based on Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3.

“Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.” Rated PG-13 (149 min.) (2023)

We will have a fun movie-themed raffle. Free snacks will be provided. Movie times are approximate.

The previously scheduled film about Chevalier is postponed to a future date due to a change in the release date.

Audience warning: Guardians of the Galaxy 3: This film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and strong thematic elements. The film shows some instances of animal testing that may be disturbing or triggering for some viewers, especially young children.

PeTA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) has issued a statement: the film “tells a beautiful and compassionate story about testing on animals to a Marvel-size audience” and it also “open[s] moviegoers’ eyes to the horrors of animal testing.”

Introduction to Zentangle Aug 17th 6:30 -8pm

Join us for a night of relaxation. Certified Zentangle instructor, Lori Champine will be your guide to the art of Zentangle.

The term Zentangle can be broken down into two words: Zen & Tangle. Zen is a state of mind where any emotion or thought does not bind you. The created patterns are referred to as “tangles” and are mixtures of dots, lines, basic curves and orbs. These shapes are the ‘elemental strokes’ of a Zentangle art piece.

All materials will be provided.  Registration is required.  This program is meant for people ages 14 years and older.
