Movie Night: Wed., November 16th: 6:00-8:00pm

Join us for Movie Night on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm. We will be showing a movie based on the book “Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris” by Paul Gallico.

ROTATING ARTIST APPLICATION

Are you a local artist looking to display your work? The Malden Public Library is now accepting applications for the monthly Rotating Art Exhibit! Through December 31, 2022, you can apply to showcase your art in the library, February – June 2023. Please visit our Rotating Art Exhibit webpage for more information.

YA Craft: Candle Making Nov. 10th @ 3:00 PM

Youth in the 6th grade and up are invited to the Program Room of the MPL to dive into some new Arts and Crafts programs at the MPL.

Friends of the Malden Public Library Fall Book Sale: Nov. 4th (preview) – Nov. 5th

The Big Fall Book Sale is here! The Friends of the Malden Public Library will have a huge book sale on Friday, Nov. 4th, from 6-9pm. This is an early access preview sale for Friends members only. Join the Friends on Friday night or renew your membership to gain the best access to the book sale.

The Friends Fall Book Sale is open to everyone on Saturday, November 5th, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. We have thousands of books, DVDs, children’s books, CDs, cookbooks, and more! Cash or check only please.

The Friends Book Sale helps raise money for Library programs, museum passes, technology, movie nights, teen programs, children’s programs, high demand bestsellers, and more. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sarah Biglow – Author Talk Malden

Seasons of Magic Series is available at the Malden Public Library

USA Today Best Selling Author Sarah Biglow will be at the Malden Public Library Thursday, October 27th at 7pm for an Author Talk and Q&A.

She is the author of several series in the genres of urban fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction.
Fans of Cozy Mystery might recognize her by her penname S.E. Biglow.
Book two of her Agents of Magic series will be released on October 31st.

Jenna McLaughlin, author – Friday, Oct. 28, 4pm

On Friday, October 28, at 4:00pm, children will have a chance to meet Jenna McLaughlin, Miss Massachusetts Outstanding Teen 2022. She will be reading from her children’s book, Roxanne Takes a Stand, and talking about how to be kind and take a stand to support friends and classmates. Jenna wrote the book after her own experiences of being bullied when she was younger. Recommended for ages 5-7.

Song & Rhyme Time, alternating Saturdays 10am

This early literacy program for young children (6 months to 4+ years) features songs, nursery rhymes, and a short picture book and takes place on alternating Saturdays (November 5 & 19, December 3 & 17 & 31, etc.), from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m in the Children’s Room. No registration required. Just come on by!

YA Fall Party – Thursday, Oct. 27th @ 3PM

Young Adults in the 6th through 12th grade are invited to enjoy an afternoon gathering on Thursday, Oct 27th from 3-4:30. Get into the autumnal spirit with games with friends in the Program Room on the second floor of the library.

Video games, Board Games, Pizza and refreshments will be available first come first served, so make sure to come in early to hang out and relax.

Join us for Movie Night on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 6:00-8:15pm. We will be showing a movie based on the “Cruella” character from 101 Dalmations.
