Young Adults in the 5th through 12th grade are invited to enter worlds of Fantasy and Adventure at the Malden Public Library each Monday. Our Young Adult Roleplaying Group meets weekly in the Program room each Monday from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.

Come and learn about Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) from Pathfinder to Dungeons and Dragons and many more. Play games with your friends and enjoy a light snack and refreshment. Read the library’s collection of game books or bring your own to play with friends.

Young Adults in the 5th through 12th Grade are invited to the MPL to learn about the fun collectible card game called Magic The Gathering. The game’s been around for over 30 years and has seen many iterations. Come play with beginner decks and learn from peers on how to play the game. Join us on Thursday, January 23rd from 3:00-4:30 PM. Everyone will have their own art supplies including a miniature easel to make a small painting of your own design. This makes for a great gift or just a fun artistic expression.

Youth and Young Adults that have signed up for our Summer Reading Program are welcome to the library today, Monday August 5th to pick up a NASA @ My Library take home art bag! The August theme for NASA’s Science Place for creating original artwork is about the ASTHROS mission to Antarctica, and you can find out more about it here.

The craft kit includes a small paint brush, watercolors, canvas and eraser, as well as some fun bookmarks, postcards and a sticker from NASA. Paint your masterpiece and submit it to the Science Place website to have your original art featured on the website here.

These take home arts kits are limited to one bag per household, for only 3rd graders through 12th graders only, and you must be signed up for the Summer Reading program in order to take a bag home with you. No other sign-up is required and the kits are first come first serve starting today, so stop by the library when you have a chance and blast off into space.
