Teens in the 6th Grade and up experience this Summer’s first Anime Club meeting. We will watch episodes of shows like ‘Naruto‘ or ‘Attack on Titan‘, or maybe even a film such as ‘Akira‘ or ‘Paprika‘.
We will meet in the Maccario Room on Friday, July 17th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Light refreshments and snacks will be available. If you have a favorite manga series feel free to check it out and bring it to the meeting.
Teens in the 5th Grade and up can come and enjoy our Summer Converse LEGO club. The third meeting will be Thursday, August 6th from 3-5 pm. The club meeting will be located in our Program Room on the 2nd floor of the library. Bring your imagination and build something extraordinary!
Young Adults in the 6th grade and up are welcome to join us on Thursday, July 2nd from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the Maccario Room to watch a film based on a Marvel Comic Book called “Big Hero Six“. The story involves protagonist Hiro and his behemoth friend Baymax as they team up to stop villains and rogues in Japan, alongside his super-powered friends. The animated feature film has won many awards, including an Oscar for best animated feature.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Door prizes include Marvel comics provided by “New England Comics” here in Malden, with funding from Preotle, Lane & Associates LTD.
Young Adult
s in the 6th Grade and up can join us in the Maccario Room on Tuesday, June 30th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM as we start our Summer Reading Program off with a big party! We will have crafts, board games, video games (including our new wii U), snacks and refreshments.
Come hang out, sign-up for Summer Reading and pick up your free Swag Bag full of comics, Summer Reading gifts, and information about our many upcoming programs. This program is provided through the generosity of Preotle, Lane & Associates
Please join us Wednesday, July 1st in the Program Room from 6:30-8:30 PM for Board Game Night for Adults. Bring your own board games, or play with the library’s collection that includes: Settlers of Catan, Ticket To Ride, Dominion, Can’t Stop, Forbidden Island and more! Snacks and Refreshments will be served.
The Malden YMCA Robotics Club is coming to the Malden Public Library for the next three Thursdays, May 28th, June 4th and June 11th from 3:30–5 pm in the Maccario Room. Teens in the 5th grade and up can reserve their spot today for this three week, in-depth robotics course where they’ll learn how to design, build and program robots.
