Celebrate writing! Join Malden’s own creative writing group, the Malden Writers’ Collaborative, for their 11th Annual Public Reading on Thursday, August 5th 7-8:30PM online on the Malden Public Library’s YouTube Channel. The group meets twice a month to workshop each others’ work, share ideas, and practice writing techniques. A direct link will be posted shortly before the event.

Members of the 2020-2021 season will read original works.

Some content may be inappropriate for children.

Preparing for National Novel Writing Month?
Are you interested in joining a collaborative community of committed writers?
Are you looking for people to workshop your writing and are you committed to doing the same for others?
Are you open-minded, respectful, and encouraging to fellow writers and to the writing process?

Join the Malden Writers’ Collaborative! The group meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 8-9:30PM. Meetings will be held on Zoom until further notice. Limited to adults 18+.

New members must attend this informational session to join for the 2020-2021 season. The group will then be closed until Fall 2021.

National Novel Writing Month!

What is NaNoWriMo?
National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel during the thirty days of November. Now, each year on November 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with 50,000 words of a brand-new novel. Learn more at NaNoWriMo.org.

Monday, October 28th 7PM NaNoWriMo Kickoff: Learn about National Novel Writing Month and meet other Wrimos. Hear from others who have successfully completed novels through NaNoWriMo.

Thursday, November 14th 6:30-8:30PM Come Write-In: Work on your novel among other Wrimos. Snacks provided.

Monday, November 25th 6:30-8:30PM Come Write-In: The Final Push: There are only a few days left to finish your novel! Join other Wrimos to meet your goal. Snacks provided.

WritingGroup2016FlyerJoin the Malden Public Library in celebrating the talents of The Malden Writers’ Collaborative on Thursday, May 26th at 7 p.m. Seven members will share original works of fiction and nonfiction, on relationships, socioeconomics, death, journeys, nature, war, fantasy, and much more!

The Malden Writers’ Collaborative is a creative writing group that meets biweekly at the Malden Public Library. They focus on developing as writers through sharing their own work and critiquing the work of others.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Malden Public Library. Call the library at 781-324-0218 with any questions.
