Grab your dice, cards and meeples because its time for another Board Game Night for Adults hosted at the Malden Public Library. Join us this coming Wednesday, April 12th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM as we play games like Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Dominion and more in the Library’s game collection.
Children and their families are invited to join local artists Greg Cook and Kari Percival in creating fun crafts related to the themes of this year’s Malden Reads book selections.This free event will take place at the Malden Public Library on Saturday, March 25, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
The crafts activity, “Thank You Nature Neighbors” will celebrate the creatures and plants with which we share Malden, from our pets to wild squirrels, birds, raccoons, butterflies, bees and trees. The crafts will later be displayed as a diorama in the front window of MATV, Malden’s Media Center. All ages are welcome. Young children must be accompanied by a grown-up.

Join us for the “Art of Vegetable Carving,” on March 28 at 7:00 p.m. No registration required. Adults only. This is a demonstration and there will be no hands-on work. Cosponsored with the Turkish Cultural Center of Boston.

Young Adults in the 6th through 12th grade are invited to dive into the all-new, all-different world of Marvel Comics, with our latest Movie Afternoon. On Thursday, March 16th from 3:00 – 5:00 we will have snacks, beverages and a movie in the Maccario Room of the library.
The film is one of the latest to arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. Based on the original comic book character Doctor Strange, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
On Thursday, March 30th, join us for snacks and a discussion on from a Lahey Hospital expert on what it really feels like to become older. A Malden Reads program, we’re looking to have a good discussion together with adults of all ages – and we encourage you to bring your kids and grandkids, ages 15 and up. We will begin at 7 pm in the Maccario Room.
For Youth in the 4th through 6th grade, the YMCA LEGO robotics club is once again offering its fun and educational 8-week program to patrons of the Malden Public Library. In the program you get to learn how to design, program and compete with LEGO robotics kits.
The program begins on Thursday, March 23rd from 3:30 – 4:35 PM, and will meet each following Thursday for 8 weeks in the Maccario Room at the library. Please see below for the full list of dates.

We will have board games, the Nintendo wiiU set up, Valentine’s card and jewelry crafts, snack, drinks and pizza.
