Annual Holiday Food Drive

Bring a little cheer to a struggling family.  Library patrons can contribute to the Salvation Army’s work in Malden to make the holiday season festive for others.  Lend a hand in creating a memorable Thanksgiving for those who might otherwise not be able to celebrate.

These items will be gladly accepted:

  •            stuffing
  •            dry gravy
  •            mashed potatoes
  •            canned tuna, chicken or other canned goods
  •            apple sauce
  •            cranberry sauce
  •            peanut butter

Ethnic foods are welcomed; staples, such as rice or beans, are always good additions to the pantry.

The collection container will be out on the main floor opposite the circulation desk.  The food drive will continue after Thanksgiving to accept donations for Christmas.

Paying for Assisted Living: A Presentation for Seniors and Their Caregivers

September 14th • 6:00 – 7:30 pm ~ Malden Public Library

Families researching senior living options are often under pressure and time constraint and it can be difficult to weigh the value of one program or community over another under those conditions. With a better understanding of the structure and terminology of the assisted living industry, guests will be armed with clear and useful information that can aid in making an educated decision that will ultimately improve quality of life for themselves or their loved ones.

We will discuss commonly asked questions such as:

  • What is included in my monthly rent?
  • What’s the difference between a tiered and all inclusive pricing structure?
  • Who chooses assisted living?

Join us for light refreshments along with our presentation. Q&A will follow.
