Children will learn about a variety of mammals and reptiles in this hands-on live animal program. Recommended for ages 4-10. Funded by Preotle, Lane & Associates.
This signed story time will be led by ASL interpreter and teaching artist, Arlene Velleman. We will read a picture book, Arlene will interpret in ASL, and then Arlene will teach participants the signs for some of the key words from the story. A question-and-answer session will follow. All ages are welcome; this program is particularly appropriate for ages 4-6+.

Starting tomorrow Monday, August 8th youth and families can take home a Grab&Go kit at the Information Desk of the MPL for our NASA @ My Library partnership. Learn about the phases of the moon and recreate them with our Oreo cookie mission materials (milk not included).
Join Mayor Gary Christenson for a special storytime on Thursday, September 29, at 10 :30 a.m. The Mayor will read aloud from some fun new picture books and be available to answer any questions that children might have about what a mayor does. This program is recommended for ages 3-5+. Preschool groups are welcome (just call the Children’s Room in advance).

Youth in grades 3 and Up are invited to get into science at the Malden Library though Pop Bottle Experiments. Join us on August 3rd @ 3PM in the Program Room to get your own copy of the Pop Bottle Science kit and perform some initial experiments in simple STEM lessons.
