Young Adult Summer Reading Kick-Off

Young Adults going into the 6th grade through 12th grade are invited to join the Summer Reading program at the Malden Public Library, and enjoy our Kick-Off party on FRIDAY June 28th from 3:00-4:30 in the Maccario Room.

We will have games, pizza, snack and drinks to enjoy while you hang out and get ready for a Summer of fun at the MPL. Sign-up gift bags for the Summer Reading program will be available, though our supply is limited so sign up soon.

Young Adult Perler Bead Craft

Young Adults in the 5th through 12th grade are invited to get crafty with the library’s Perler Bead collection. Craft anything you can imagine during the program and make a magnet for your ‘fridge or a cool keychain to carry around. This is an advanced craft, but if it is your first time it is easy to make something small and quick to try it out.

We will meet in the program room of the library on Thursday, July 11th from 3:00 – 4:30 PM, bring your friends and have a crafty good time.

YA Movie Aftenoon – March 21st

Join us in the Maccario Room for another installment of the YA Movie Afternoons. We will have popcorn, snacks and drinks to enjoy alongside a new and popular movie. This Thursday, March 21st from 3:00 – 5:00 in the Maccario Room.

This movie is another blockbuster entry from Marvel’s comic universe, and the winner for the 2019 Oscar for best Animated Film of 2018. See the classic super hero “Spider-Man” like you’ve never seen him before!

Origami Night for Adults – Nov. 6th

Adults 18+ are invited to join us for another in our instructional series of the art and craft of Origami. On November 6th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the Maccario Room we will have instructors present to help you fold, crease and bend your way into making unique art.

YA Anime Afternoon Party

Manga and Anime fans in the 5th through 12th grade join us in the Maccario Room on Friday, July 27th to watch a movie based on one of the best-selling and longest running Manga’s in the world, “One Piece”

We will have snack, drinks, some party favors and will watch one of the latest films from the anime series based on “One Piece”. Raise the jolly roger and set sail for adventure as Luffy’s crew goes to a casino in the middle of the ocean and encounters greed and misfortune among his fellow pirate crew.

 

Harry Potter Birthday Celebration

Young Adults in the 5th through 12th grade are invited to enjoy a magical birthday party for the Boy Who Lived at the Malden Public Library on July 31st from 3:00 – 4:30 PM.

We will have butter beer, bertie botts beans, harry potter games, crafts and more. Come ready to celebrate and relax with friends in fellow houses, whether they sort into Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. No registration required, but snacks and crafts supplies are limited.

LEGO Robotics Club

Youth in the 4th through 6th grade are invited to attend the LEGO Robotics Club  being offered by the YMCA LEGO Robotics team.  There are three programs you may attend at the Malden Public Library, and they are on May 10th, May 17th and May 24th 2018 and will be from 4:00 to 5:00 in the Program Room located on the second floor. Each week will be a different theme and you are not required to attend all three programs to join up.

There is no need to sign-up, but it is first come first serve basis, and program participants are not required to bring anything but an interest in Robotics.

May 10th from 4:00-5:00 PM

May 17th from 4:00-5:00 PM

May 24th from 4:00-5:00 PM
