Beginning this week, the Library will be closed on Saturday until September 8, 2018.
Next Thursday (June 21st) will be the last Thursday evening the Library will be open until 9 pm. Beginning Thursday, June 28th, the Library will close at 6 pm.

of Boston.

Join us for 8th Annual Public Reading by Malden’s own creative writing group, the Malden Writers’ Collaborative. The group meets twice a month at the library from October through May.
Members will share pieces they’ve workshopped this past year. Hear fiction and nonfiction focused on relationships, death, journeys, family, war, coming of age, and much more!

Learn the art of pastels in this hands-on workshop with returning artist Gregory Maichack. The workshop is a two-hour event that enables sheer beginners to advanced adults, teens 18+, to experience creating a pastel painting while offering interesting and entertaining historical information about Monet’s life and painting techniques, a demo at easel, and participants’ own experience with pastels (all professional-grade materials supplied). All take home their own pastel paintings. This event is sponsored by the Malden Cultural Council and the Friends of the Malden Public Library.
