SONG & RHYME TIME:
Every Tuesday and Saturday, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
This early literacy program for young children (6 months to 5 years) features songs, nursery rhymes, and a short picture book. No registration required. Just come on by!
CREATIVE DRAMA
Every Friday, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
From October 5 through June 13, Laurie Rae Tressler from Library Creative Drama, Inc., offers theater activities for children ages 7-10. Elements include theater games, improvisation, music, art, and literature. No registration required. Program offered weekly, except during school vacations.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON CRAFT
Saturdays, April 13 - May 11, 3:00-5:O0 p.m.
Older children (ages 5 & up) are invited to drop in for a special craft activity coordinated by high school students.
READING ROOTS: KINDERGARTEN ENRICHMENT

GWENDOLYN, THE GRACEFUL PIG
Wednesday, April 17, 3:O0-4:00 p.m.
Ballet dancers from Center Stage Dance Studio of Melrose will perform the story of Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig, while author David Ira Rottenberg narrates. Following the performance, the dancers will lead a mini-movement lesson. Bring your dancing shoes and your cameras! Book signing to follow.
VIOLIN MUSICAL STORYTIME

A New England Conservatory violinist will talk about this instrument and play accompaniment to a reading aloud of Giraffes Can't Dance.
DIANE EDGECOMB, STORYTELLER

Experience the award-winning talents of acclaimed storyteller, Diane Edgecomb. From the humorous to the evocative, this unique collection of nature-oriented tales brings to life native legends. This program supports the Native American theme of Malden Reads 2013.
This program is funded by the Malden Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
