On Monday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m. students in grades 5-8 are invited to explore the history of the wonderful Converse Memorial Library, designed by renowned architect Henry Hobson Richardson. Students will tour the building, learn about its history, and explore the amazing strange creatures and gargoyles that decorate the outside of the building. Students will then be invited to design their own gargoyle or medieval creature based on the building’s designs or their own imagination. Program will include work in clay, paint, and pencil. All supplies will be provided. Limited to 30, registration required. Call the library at 781-324-0218.
The program is part of the library’s STEAM in the Art Gallery grant brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, with additional funds from the Friends of the Malden Public Library.
