Pumpernickel Puppets: Friday, August 8

Animal Adventures this Friday, August 1

Kidstock! performs “The Emperor’s New Kangaroo” - Mon., July 28

Experience the excitement and joy of live theater as student actors from Kidstock! Summer Theater perform the original mini-musical “The Emperor’s New Kangaroo.” In this “down under” version of the Grimms’ classic tale about ego and trickery, two cunning tailors from the Australian Outback prey on the Emperor’s love for exotic pets in his royal zoo…already filled with spectacular beasts played by audience members.

This FREE 40-minute show involves audience participation and is recommended for ages 3 and up.

“Science Isn’t Always Pretty” on Friday, July 25

Children (ages 6 and up) are invited to learn fascinating facts about owls as Wingmasters presents The World of Owls. This program shows how owls use their specialized powers of sight, hearing and flight to survive and thrive. A wealth of fact and folklore about these masters of the dark explains the natural and unnatural history of owls. A variety of live owls provides the focus of the presentation.

Children’s Summer Reading Program begins July 11

Children (through grade 5) are invited to register for the Summer Reading Program and receive a reading log. Readers are eligible for an incentive prize for each week (7/11-8/17) that they read for two hours or more. (For pre-readers, being “read aloud to” counts!) Registered readers may also enter a weekly raffle by writing a mini book report. Come to the Children’s Room for more information and to pick up the schedule of FREE weekly programs. Questions? Kidstock! performs “A Congo Line” on Monday, July 14 @ 2:30pm
