Artist Gregory Maichack will present the pastel painting program “van Gogh’s Starry Night: How to Pastel Paint Expressively” on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. This is a free class with all supplies provided. Space is limited so register by calling 781-324-0218 or stop by the Information Desk.

Program Room

Children of all ages are invited to stop by the Program Room this Wednesday anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. and make decorations for the holiday. Get creative @ your library!
Thursday, Feb. 18, 3:15-4:00 p.m.
Program Room
Kids (ages 5 and up) can join us in making batches of gloppy slime. When we’re done, everyone can take a sample home with them!
Wednesday, Feb. 17, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Maccario Room
Kids of all ages (parents, too!) who love to dance are invited to the Kids Dance Party this Wednesday, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. We’ll dance the Macarena, Cha-Cha Slide, Limbo, and more to a wide range of fun music.

Children’s Room
The next Reading Roots enrichment program just for kindergartners will take place this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. For more details, please call the Children’s Room at 781-388-0803.
Reading Roots is generously funded by the Anna Yaghjian Fund. The goal of this enrichment program is to nurture in kindergartners a love of books, reading, learning and libraries.
Winter storytime registration for preschoolers starts Monday, January 4. You may register by telephone (781-388-0803) or in person in the Children’s Room.
Preschool Storytime for ages 3-5 years will take place on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., beginning January 21 and ending February 25.
Song & Rhyme Time for young children (ages 6 months to 5 years) takes place every Tuesday, 10:30-11:15 a.m., and does not require registration.

Children of all ages are invited to stop by the Program Room this Wednesday anytime after 2:30 p.m. (but before the 5:00 closing time) to make fun, colorful decorations for winter and the holidays.

Children’s Room
The Oak Grove Improvement Association is sponsoring a free story time with Big Joe the Storyteller on Saturday, November 28th from 2:00-3:30 pm. Children ages three and older are invited to hear stories about winter holiday traditions and then decorate a cookie. Cookies donated by Cookies by Miss Jackie. Please join us as we welcome the Holiday Season!

Firefighter Kevin will talk to young kids about fire safety and what firefighters do as well as read a book. If your child is a fan of fire engines and such, this is one storytime you won’t want to miss.
Fridays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Maccario Room
Every Friday at 4:00 p.m. (except during school vacation), Laurie Rae Tressler from Library Creative Drama, Inc. offers a drop-in Creative Drama program for kids. Children ages 7-10 can come by to participate in theater games and other creative activities. No registration necessary. (This program runs from October 2 through June. Regular attendance is appreciated, but not required.)
