Teen Book Discussion Group Thursday, October 7

Join us for a book discussion in the Program Room (2nd Floor - across from the Children’s Room)! We will be reading the young adult novel, “The Blood Confession” by Alisa Libby (who will be speaking at the Malden Public Library on October 21!).

Teen Chess Club begins Tuesday, October 26

chessFor all students in grades 5 and up! Stop by the Maccario Room for chess tips, strategies and games. We will be meeting weekly on Tuesdays from October 26 through December 21. Michael Sullivan will be instructing. No registration required.

Scary Story Contest For Teens!

sccat Malden’s Young Adults in grades 5-12 are invited to write an original scary story!
Teens may submit a mystery, suspenseful thriller, dark teen romance, or a humorous Halloween tale!

The top three winners (of gift cards!) will be chosen from each of the following two categories:
Middle School Category : Grades 5-6-7-8
High School Category: Grades 9-10-11-12

All original stories will be published in a bound copy available at the Malden Public Library
as well as on the Malden Public Library’s website. Winners will receive gift cards, a collection of all the stories AND an invitation to read their stories
during the Teen Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 27!

We will be meeting at 3:30 in the Maccario Room.

TAB members do lots of great things to help the library:

* Community service @ the library!

Game On! Gaming for Teens ~ Tuesday, September 21

Join us to play Wii and PS2 video games including the New Super Marios Bros. (Wii), Just Dance (Wii), Super Smash Brothers Brawl (Wii), Wii Sports, Wii Play, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Rock Band from 3:30 - 5 pm in the Maccario Room.

This program is open to all students in grades 5-12.
Socks are required for DDR!

NO registration required – just stop by!

Register for Fall Preschool Storytime beginning Sept. 1

leavesRegistration for Fall storytime for preschoolers starts Wednesday, September 1. You may register by telephone (781-388-0803) or in person in the Children’s Room.

Preschool Storytime for ages 3-5 years will take place on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., beginning September 16 and ending October 21. Regular attendance is requested.

Song & Rhyme Time for young children (ages 6-36 months and up) will resume September 14, every Tuesday, 10:30-11:15 a.m., and does not require registration.

Monday: 9:00 a.m. - 8:45 p.m
Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m
Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 8:45 p.m
Thursday*: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m
Friday-Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:45 p.m

~ The Main Library is closed on Thursdays from 1-2pm, Sundays and holidays.
