Wine Tasting Tickets Now On Sale

Tickets for the 15th Annual FOTMPL Wine Tasting are now on sale! The Wine Tasting will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 in the Converse Library and Galleries with all proceeds going to the Malden Public Library.

This is a chance to taste wonderful wines, see and learn about a beautiful art gallery right here in Malden, enjoy music and neighbors, and taste delicious treats from area restaurants.

Tickets are $35 per person and are available for purchase either at the Library circulation desk or from www.localwineevents.com. The event sold out early last year, so don’t wait.

Board Game Night for Adults, Wednesday, April 12th

AdultGameNightGrab your dice, cards and meeples because its time for another Board Game Night for Adults hosted at the Malden Public Library. Join us this coming Wednesday, April 12th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM as we play games like Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Dominion and more in the Library’s game collection.
 
If you’d like to bring your own games as well, feel free, though keep in mind that you only have two hours. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

 

Movie Night: Wed., April 26, 2017: 6:00-8:15pm

Join us for Movie Night on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 6:00-8:15pm.  We will be showing an Oscar-winning movie about La La Land.  The film stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, and John Legend and is directed by Damien Chazelle.  The movie won six Oscars including best director, best actress, best cinematography, best original song, and others.

Set in Los Angeles, an aspiring actress Mia (Stone) meets Sebastian (Gosling), an old-school jazz musician, as they struggle to make ends meet and pursue their dreams.  Rotten Tomatoes writes that the movie “breathes new life into a bygone genre, with thrillingly assured direction, powerful performances, and an irresistible excess of heart.”  The Detroit News writes, “[the movie] is a special, special experience, and movies like this don’t come around too often.”

Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 93% approval rating and Rolling Stone writes, “You leave [the movie] exhilarated by…nonstop inventiveness, dazzled by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, and thrilled how they made movies magic again.”
