Join the Malden Public Library Creative Writing Group!
The next meeting is Thursday, February 2nd at 7PM.

  • Meets every first and third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.(except holidays)
  • Share and discuss your writing and ideas
  • Examine and apply various writing techniques
  • Develop a greater appreciation for writing
  • No need to sign-up, just bring a pen and paper! (or whatever medium you prefer)

Must be 18 or older.

New Online Resources at the Malden Public Library

Looking for local news stories? Need to do some research for your class project?

With your Malden Public Library card and an Internet connection you can do both from the privacy of your own home.

NewsBank Boston Metropolitan Collection: The electronic editions of record for valuable local and regional newspapers in the Boston Metropolitan area-all in one easy-to-search database. Each paper provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community. Includes among others Malden Observer, Melrose Free Press and Medford Transcript.

World Book Online Reference Center: The premier online reference source-containing every article from the 22-volume print set plus thousands more. Resource includes : World Book Advanced; World Book Kids; World Book Student and Estudiantil Hallazhgos en Linea.

Just go to the Malden Public Library’s website and click Find Articles Online. You’ll see these and many more databases and other resources to which you can access with your Malden Public Library card.

An award winning songwriter and graduate of Berklee College of Music, April has been performing with New England’s finest musicians for the last 12 years. Her deep roots in southern gospel and blues combine with urban soulfulness and sophistication, to create music that’s pure, gutsy, and unmistakably authentic. Her focus is singing songs in the tradition of classic singers like Joe Williams, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and Tony Bennett.
