Tuesday, November 20th, 2007The library will be closed Thursday, November 22, 2007 in celebration of Thanksgiving. Library hours on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 are 9:00am - 6:00pm.

Children (through grade 5) are invited to register for the Summer Reading Program and receive a reading log. Readers are eligible for an incentive prize for each week (7/6-8/17) that they read for two hours or more. (For pre-readers, being “read aloud to” counts!) Registered readers may also enter a weekly raffle by writing a mini book report. Come to the Children’s Room for more information and to pick up the schedule of FREE weekly programs. Questions? Younger children are invited to join us for stories about snow and the cold, as the exuberant Susie Magoozy tells entertaining tales with props and puppets. Most appropriate for ages 3-7. Sponsored by the Friends of the Malden Public Library.
To celebration Children’s Book Week, there will be special drop-in storytimes with community guests in the Children’s Room. These programs, which begin at 10:30 a.m., are most appropriate for ages 3-5.

Wednesday, Nov. 14, 10:30 a.m.: Bread storytime with Joe Piantedosi, Jr.
Thursday, Nov. 15, 10:30 a.m.: Safety storytime with crime prevention officers from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office
Friday, Nov. 16, 10:30 a.m.: Fire Dept. storytime with Firefighter Kevin

About the band:
The Boston based Rusty Scott Quartet have been honing their skills over the past five years playing to packed rooms all across New England and New York. Schooled at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory / Thelonius Monk Institute, the members of the group have played both nationally and internationally. Combining their diverse experiences into one focused and swinging sound while always keeping a healthy respect for the tradition of jazz.

There will be no Creative Drama workshop today, Friday, November 9. The next workshop on Friday, November 16, will take place at 3:00 p.m. as usual.
The library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 for Veterans Day.
